Job Summary:
Reporting to the VP of R&D the R&D Specialist will play a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring product quality. You will be responsible for developing new product formulations, sourcing raw materials, and managing the entire product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulation and Development: Develop and optimize product formulations to meet company, customer, and regulatory standards.
- Raw Material Management: Source, evaluate, and qualify new raw materials to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the Quality Compliance team to ensure adherence to cGMP, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Product Launch: Coordinate with sales and operations teams to launch new products efficiently and on time.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to sales teams and customers.
- Laboratory Work: Conduct laboratory experiments, pilot plant trials, and scale-up studies.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science highly preferred, BS Chemistry is also acceptable.
- Must have experience in Nutraceuticals.
- 3+ years of experience in product development.
- Strong technical skills, including formulation, analytical techniques, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
